Dr. Sebastian East
Dr. Sebastian East was born in South Africa, but has also lived in Dubai, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Venezuela and Canada prior to moving to Texas. He completed his undergraduate education at The University of Texas at Austin, and subsequently went on to earn his D.D.S at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas. While in dental school he was not only on the Dean’s Honor List, but also received an academic scholarship for his high grade point average and extensive community service, as well as was awarded the prestigious American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS) Dental Implant student award upon graduating.
He completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency training at the world-renowned Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas. While in training, he served as Chief Resident at the busiest trauma hospital in the country (Memorial Herman Hospital TMC), as well as 5 other major hospitals (Ben Taub General Hospital, Houston Methodist Hospital, Shriners Hospital for Children, Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital and the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center); receiving extensive surgical training in maxillofacial trauma, head and neck cancer ablation and microvascular reconstruction, orthognathic surgery, cleft lip and palate, bone-grafting, dental implants, and wisdom teeth extractions. He also received training in pediatric and adult anesthesia, general surgery and neurosurgery.
Dr. East has always made it a priority to give back and help those who are less fortunate. Being fluent in both Spanish and English, he has led numerous medical and dental mission trips to Central and South America, and hopes to continue to serve by volunteering on yearly cleft lip and palate reconstruction mission trips around the world.
Outside of oral surgery, Dr. East’s interests include traveling, outdoor sports, and spending time with his family and friends. Dr. East and his wife, Brielle are the proud parents of two sons. They live in Newport Beach and love living in California.
